High protein diet devised by Dr. Atkins remains to be most likely one of the most accepted high protein-low carbohydrate diets used in the last 30 years. Low carbohydrate Atkins diet status has helped start scores of look-a-like diets who use the matching principles of low carb, high protein diet. These days people who want to lose weight have lots of high protein diets to choose from.

Studies have revealed that high-protein, low-carb eating has a lot of beneficial effects as well as produce hefty burning of fat without the necessity to limit calorie intake. Individuals who benefit from the high protein, low carb diet by Dr.Atkins have for a long time been reporting this effect. Many studies have reported that high-protein, low-carb intake enhances triclycerides, reduces blood glucose for people suffering from diabetes and people in early stages of diabetes and increases helpful cholesterol or (HDL). High-protein, low-carb nutrition has been scientifically confirmed to improve insulin sensitivity, lessen blood pressure and lessen blood insulin levels. If we contrast it against diets low in fat, high protein, low carbohydrate diet followers also lose a lesser amount of muscle size.

Although not proven by medicine, there are lots of various benefits testified by dieters using high-protein, low-carb diet devised by Dr. Atkins. Some of these are extra energy, significantly reduced need for candys, improved attention, better frame of mind and lessening of depression type of symptoms.

Then again there are also particular benefits that are specific to the low-carbohydrate, high-protein diet invented by Dr. Atkins. If you have been a low fat dieter earlier you will take pleasure in eating all previously not allowed that once you had to go without. Cream, steak and butter are a ordinary part of low carbohydrate, high protein diet devised by Dr. Atkins. You will without a doubt find it very pleasing to once again eat food that you like. People on low carb, high protein diet by Dr.Atkins are encouraged to consume their full of rich meats, oils, cheeses or fats.

Diet devised by Dr. Atkins is also easy to make use of if matched with several other low-carb, high-protein diets available today. Also there are a number of simple food calculations that you are going to have to learn, but following that, you will be allowed to have a meal of any food you wish from the suitable food lists.

Dr. Atkins additionally stressed the importance of finding your own private carb level. Different people have diverse amount of carb acceptance. While some gain pounds with merely 90 grams of carbs per day, others can ingest as much as 120 grams of carbs daily. During your continuing dieting phase and pre-maintenance phase of the high-protein, low-carb diet invented by Dr. Atkins, you are going to discover your individual carb count that will help determine your carbohydrate goal from now on.

The reputation of low-carbohydrate, high-protein diet devised by Dr. Atkins can also be counterproductive for people trying to lose weight. Since there is a great deal of advice accessible about the low-carb, high-protein Atkins diet, and that makes it simple to find resources and help, but can also sidetrack you. There are a lot of Atkins books written and what is more there are a lot of internet websites that supply you with information, tips and group support. Then again practically everyone you know has heard of diet by Dr. Atkins and most likely has a outlook about it. You need to know that there are some big misunderstandings out there about the type of the diet by Dr.Atkins, and you are going to, I am sure, need to stand up for your newly discovered eating methods occasionally.

There are some extra difficulties for using the high-protein, low-carbohydrate diet invented by Dr. Atkins. You do need to calculate carbs in everything you eat to be in no doubt that you are keeping within your own carbohydrate range. Furthermore, there is the matter of Induction, the most intensely contested phase of the diet. Induction is difficult to pass if you have been on a diet that centers on sugar and carbohydrates. Also, great number of individuals try Induction and misguidedly think that this is the way that the whole diet will be. They quit without even starting the real diet devised by Dr. Atkins.

Every so often even though if it does not happen often, some people are going to suffer a carbohydrate crash usually during the 3rd and sometimes 5th day of the Atkins diet. This response is a effect of their body going through the ketosis stage or running on fat as a replacement for carbohydrates. The effects are brief but lots of individuals have resigned from low carb diets totally because of this happenstance.

Generally, with the few negligible downsides considered, low carbohydrate, high protein diet by Dr.Atkins continues to be first choice of many people trying to lose weight with low carb diets for one good reason. It does help you lose weight. Thousands of people trying to lose weight have succeeded with the high-protein, low-carb Dr. Atkins diet and the high protein, low carbohydrate style of dieting.

A Diet Pill Superhero

by Diets In Review

So many diet supplements make lofty claims of dramatic weight loss yet carry potentially dangerous risks.  In fact, the term “diet pill” itself can carry negative connotations in the minds of dieters looking for help.  Unfortunately, many overweight people simply cannot lose weight on their own.  Finding time to exercise or plan nutritious meals can be impossible in this hectic day and age.  It is essential for some dieters to add a supplement to their diet plan.

One new and safer choice of diet supplements on the market is Hydrox-Slim.  Hydrox-Slim fully discloses its ingredients, which are all natural and healthy.  Hydrox-Slim contains a blend of essential vitamins and plant extracts.  Green Tea, one of Hydrox-Slim's ingredients, has been hailed by many for its healing powers as well as its weight loss benefits.

Many weight loss pills with risky side effects contain the stimulant Ephedrine or contain Ephedrine-substitutes.  Some of the many health dangers of Ephedrine include cardiovascular and respiratory problems.  Hydrox-Slim does not contain Ephedrine.  In fact, the only stimulant Hydrox-Slim contains is caffeine, which occurs naturally in Green Tea.  Hydrox-Slim is not only a safer alternative for dieters, but it also combats fat and calories in several ways, making it more effective than dieting pills that only have one purpose, for example, to suppress hunger.

Hydrox-Slim's special blend of natural elements causes a natural physiological response of the body called thermogenesis.  Thermogenesis is the process by which the human body creates heat.  Substances that cause this effect are called thermogenics and are commonly used in products for losing weight.  When a dieter takes Hydrox-Slim, his or her body produces heat by increasing the rate of metabolism.  Metabolism is the body's processes which break down food and create energy.  When your metabolism increases above its normal rate, you burn fat and calories faster.

In addition to burning fat faster, the ingredients in Hydrox-Slim help suppress your appetite.  Not only does the diet pill make you feel hungry less often, but you will feel full sooner.  Many overweight individuals actually overeat, which makes losing weight difficult.  With Hydrox-Slim's hunger suppressing power, you can limit your eating to normal, healthy amounts.

Hydrox-Slim's natural ingredients also have the added benefits of reducing water retention and even lower blood pressure.  Slimming down and losing weight also has many other health benefits, which include boosting energy, enhancing your appearance, and reducing the risk of obesity-related health risks such as diabetes and heart problems.

While Hydrox-Slim seems safer and more healthy than other dieting products, it is also less expensive than other brands.  That is not to suggest that Hydrox-Slim is of lower quality, only that other diet pills are over-priced.  Hydrox-Slim costs as little as $20 per bottle.

It is simple to incorporate Hydrox-Slim into your daily routine.  You can take between two and four pills a day, and you must take it thirty minutes before eating or work outs to see maximum results.  Hydrox-Slim is not for women who are pregnant or nursing, and if you are sensitive to caffeine, you should avoid this diet product.

Some Study Results Answer the Question, "why Diet?" And, " Which Diets Help Weight Loss?"

by Leo D Pierson, Jr.

esult of “yo-yo” dieting is that it becomes more difficult to maintain a healthy weight. That's what yo-yo dieting is. I also wouldn't put too much stock in temporary weight reductions induced for food restrictions. Based on what the media has been reporting over the last nine months or so, the popularity of low-carb dieting is at an all-time high.

Dieting is only for people who are overweight. A doctor can tell you if you’re a healthy weight for your size and age or if you need to lose a few pounds. However, crash dieting is an extremely dangerous way to go about losing weight, and can lead to yo-yo dieting and a number of serious health problems. So before you decide to plunge into a crash diet, there are some facts that you need to know.

The gender and race/ethnic group differences may reflect differences in how dieting is conceptualized among males and females and among white, African-American, and Hispanic adolescents. The proximate cause of dieting is a desire to lose weight, but, because there are different ways by which a person becomes heavier than he wants to be, the ultimate causes of the choice to diet vary. Using a simple, graphical model grounded in the physiology of weight determination, we explore some theoretical and empirical implications of dieting’s different causes. Part of dieting is learning to eat right and take things in moderation. If you know of a couple of things that really make you feel like you’re losing control, steer clear of them, but as long as you have been sticking to your diet and exercise program, don’t forget to treat yourself to a little indulgence every once in a while.

Diets formulated for high lean growth genotypes using synthetic amino acids may be limiting in other essential amino acids. Well-planned vegan and lacto-ovo-vegetarian diets are appropriate for all stages of the life cycle, including during pregnancy and lactation. Appropriately planned vegan and lacto-ovo-vegetarian diets satisfy nutrient needs of infants, children, and adolescents and promote normal growth.

Some diets are especially dangerous for people with high blood pressure, heart disease, and kidney problems. They can also cause gout.

Many the diets are based on low-carbohydrate approaches. These hotly debated low-carbohydrate diets were subject of a recent study in the “Journal of the American Medical Association” that found more research is needed on the safety and efficacy of such plans. Most fad diets are typically short-term diet plans. Not only are they low in calories but their menus are likely to be monotonous and lacking in adequate nutrition. Formula diets are weight-loss plans that replace one or more meals with a liquid formula. Most formula diets are balanced diets containing a mix of protein, carbohydrate, and usually a small amount of fat.

Also, long term, many diets are not sustainable which can cause repeated severe dieting and sometimes gaining more weight than you started off with! These diets are also high in protein and can cause kidney problems and increased bone loss. High-fat, low-carb diets are also low in many essential vitamins, minerals, and fiber.

I have to agree fad diets are not a way of life just a temporary fix(if that). Eating healthy is a way of life, highlights of research findings prove this. Vegan diets are definitely healthy. Research has shown that people who switch to a vegan diet find it as acceptable as switching to a low-fat diet. Most of these diets are not meant to be kept for extended periods of time. They aren’t balanced and not meant to be your permanent way of eating.

A variety of alternative diets are offered for treating cancer, cardiovascular disease, and food allergies. Virtually all these interventions focus on eating more fresh and freshly prepared vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and legumes. These diets are supposed to help you improve your energy, improve your digestive system and intestinal system and improve your mental processes.

Unfortunately, not all commercial diets are sound, so room remains for improvement in evaluation and industry oversite. Fad diets are diets that become very popular during a certain period of time. These diets often claim incredible weight loss results. Diets aren’t bad because they take away food. They are bad, because they can take away from OURSELVES.

Many of the popular diets are fads and should not be followed. Please consult your physician when choosing a diet, and follow any advice she gives you. Some have examined the science behind normal mechanisms of weight control, and how weight loss diets are constructed and work. The aim of the course is to acquire the knowledge to critically appraise a weight control diet or dietary supplement and choose the best plan for success, both in the short-term and the long run. The nutritional information provided on carbohydrate controlled diets are based on research, education and clinical experience.

The 3 Day Tuna Diet - Can You Really Lose Weight With The Three Day Tuna Diet?

by Xylene Belita

Maybe you have heard of the 3 day tuna diet and how it can make you lose 10 pounds to 15 pounds quickly. You can be that desperate to lose your weight off, but before jumping into the 3 day tuna diet, there are some important things you should really know about.

The three day tuna diet is one of today’s favorite crash diets. Many people assume that there is no health risk with short diets just like the 3 day tuna diet. However, low calorie diets usually have adverse effects on your body’s metabolism. By using this kind of diet you may later gain weight, and probably put back more weight than you actually lost.

This is not a healthy diet since it starves your body. You only get about 978 calories per day. Low calorie diets will put you in starvation mode during the first day. You will know it after beginning the three day tuna diet. You will feel sluggish, feel cold no matter how many blankets you have, and even some people dream of food dancing right in front of them when they wake up. These symptoms are indications that your body is in a starvation mode.

The 3 day tuna diet is nearly close to a very low calorie diet or VLCD for short. The three days duration is just an illusion. You will truthfully be on and off this diet for one month.

The three day tuna diet involves eating foods that are not balanced and will not help you lose weight permanently. This diet only allows you some small amounts of fish and chicken, some peanut butter, a few vegetables and an apple for dinner. If you follow all that, then you can get ice cream too, which is not really a healthy diet.

A large portion of the three day tuna diet are made up of refined carbohydrates which have very little nutritional value or none at all. When you eat very low calorie foods that has some bread and sugars in them, then your food cravings are essentially increased because there is more production of insulin when we eat these carbohydrates.

Low calorie diets like the 3 day tuna diet will only give you food cravings. After the three day diet, you are most likely to end up eating unhealthy foods during the rest of the week, since you are free to eat anything you want. Studies made in the 1970s have shown that on average, the 3 day tuna dieter will eventually gain up to eight pounds a few weeks after finishing the diet. The 3 day tuna diet may help you lose some pounds at the start but in the end you will most likely gain back the weight you lost or may gain back even more.

With so many different ideas about dieting currently on the market, it can be very confusing and difficult for people who are trying to find a diet plan that will work for them and meet their specific needs. If they keep trying over and over with diets that work for other people, but that don’t work for themselves, it can become very discouraging.

Dieting is, in essence, a method to ensure the appropriate foods are consumed for normal bodily functions. The main caveat is that food should not be consumed in excessive quantities, which will cause the calories and sugars to be turned into fat cells and stored in the body.

In order to do so people need to eat healthy diets and maintain those diets while getting adequate exercise. There is no cure all diet that will absolutely work for everyone in every circumstance. This is why the diet for idiots was created. The diet for idiots is a diet plan that helps promote weight loss for idiots. The diet for idiots plan takes different style diets and combines them together for easy fat loss for idiots.

One of the main factors which cause the plan to work consistently is that the plan rotates through all these different eating styles so that the body is allowed to get the nutrients it requires for it to function on a daily basis, whilst remaining healthy. The diet plan is an ideal one.

Perhaps the best diet plan is one that actually incorporates parts of other diet plans to create a balance where the other separate plans usually stress overeating one type of food while not eating enough of another type of food. Low-carbohydrate diets are an example of this.

By contrast to the omission diets, the excessive diets encourage people to overindulge on higher amounts of a certain type of food than a normal person would typically eat. For example, in a high protein diet, a person is encouraged to eat protein in excess instead of other types of foods.

Trying different diet ideas in a continuing attempt to lose weight can end up being not only confusing and taxing but ultimately unsuccessful. Many different diet ideas on the market today focus on one type of food or behavior pattern to the exclusion of all others. While these plans may work for some, ultimately they are never the correct or ideal solution for everyone. This is the rationale behind the Dieting Tricks. This comprehensive plan of weight loss for idiots combines and alternates among many of the ideas suggested by the traditional diet plans providing a complete and workable approach to fat loss for idiots.

Life Is One Damn Diet After Another

by Virginia Bola

A common expression is that we’re “going on a diet.” The phrase suggests that, like a vacation trip, there is a beginning and an end. We dream of the day we will reach our weight goal and how wonderful it will be when we don’t have to lead a life of painful deprivation.

In the back of our minds, there is a comforting little tape playing, promising us that when our weight loss campaign is over, we’ll be able to stop counting calories, carbohydrates, or fats. We long for the day when we no longer have to clench our teeth as we refuse a favorite dish that always causes us to salivate in our sleep. We reach for the carrot and celery sticks without anticipation or enthusiasm while torturing ourselves with visions of the special treats we’ll enjoy when the diet is over.

Uh, hello?

Allowing ourselves to think of a diet as a delineated, restricted period within our total life span is a sure avenue back to tent city (that refers to what we wear, not where we live). To have any hope of attaining permanent weight control, we must approach it as a lifelong effort, watching our intake day after day, week after week, year after year.

You feel your heart sinking in your chest. You think “If I have to live like this all the time, it’s just not worth it!” That little voice promises you that you are different. You can relax because now you know how to lose weight, you can do it anytime you want. Gain five pounds and you’ll go back on your diet and be back to goal in no time at all.

But you won’t! Think back over your chequered weight history. We all believe that once our weight is down, it will be so easy to go on a short diet if we gain back a few pounds. It doesn’t work that way, though, does it? We start gaining a pound here and a pound there, but then there are some special events coming up and a diet would be so inconvenient. We don’t go back “on” our diet until we’ve gained enough weight to develop the self-disgust that warrants a new period of serious deprivation. We have become a full-fledged member of the yo-yo club, that vast majority of dieters who cannot keep the weight off for more than a few weeks.

The reasons we go “on” and “off” diets are numerous: they are boring, depressing, and very uncomfortable. They set us apart from friends, family, and coworkers who continue to snack, to feast, and to celebrate. We resent how diets make us feel and how they impact our daily lives.

Let’s look at the whole picture from a different perspective for a minute.

Instead of “a diet” envision a way of eating that involves living on a diet for the rest of your life. While the prospect may appall you, don’t say you can’t do it just yet.

First, consider another wide-spread concept many of us accept. To lose substantial weight in a relatively short time, we need to select the diet that seems to fit us and then stay with it, religiously, until we’ve reached our goal.

Let’s now take these two concepts, squish them together, and then turn them upside down.

We are not “going on a diet.” We are starting our diet-for-life. We then pick a diet, any diet at all, and make the commitment to stick with that diet for one week, and one week only. At the end of the week, we are going to pick an entirely different diet to which again we only commit for a one week period. This continues for virtually the rest of our lives with selected diets changing on a weekly basis.

What does this accomplish? A whole bunch of things:

1.

By selecting a different diet each week, it removes those common misgivings that maybe we should have gone in a different direction. We worry that we’re not getting the right nutrients or that we’re going to get sick or develop a rare disease. We read the diet ratings and panic at the warnings posted for all the popular programs. With our new approach, you don’t have to fret about if you made a good or bad choice because you’ll be making a new choice in a week.

2.

If there are particularly painful “No-Nos” in this week’s diet, resolve to try something next week that allows a currently forbidden fruit. For example, a primarily protein regimen has been found successful for many participants who often lose five or ten pounds in a week. However, they miss the vegetables and salad they enjoy. The next week could then be a vegetables and salad only routine, also successful for rapid weight loss but a bit lean on the protein you body needs for self-repair.

You may then find yourself craving some good bread so you switch to the Subway diet for a week until your craving is satisfied. Move on to something completely different - the cabbage soup diet or liquid shakes. Since there are literally thousands of diets, a few are bound to include the food you crave.

You are never more than a week away from having what you feel you absolutely must have in order to keep going. You can include spartan fad diets that move fat quickly and you can include calorie counting or Weight Watcher diets that allow almost anything so long as you adjust your intake to stay within the totals specified.

3.

The frequent changes in your eating patterns keep your body off-balance. Give the body enough time and advance notice and it will adapt to anything, turning protein into carbohydrates and storing even low calorie carbohydrates as little pockets of fat. By totally changing what you eat on a regular basis, the body gives up trying to figure out how to thwart you and spends its time efficiently processing what you give it. You are effectively using your smart little mind to outmaneuver your smart not-so-little body.

4.

The constant changes force you to buy food in smaller packages. It’s pointless and wasteful to buy those family packs of anything. That will help you with overall portion reduction, a must for any serious dieter. Your shopping goal is only to purchase items that you can consume within a week. If you see something that you particularly want but is not on your allowed list, make a mental note to find a diet for next week that can accommodate it.

5.

The need for a new diet each week requires that you read and research a lot of diets. The reading acts as reinforcement for your goals and will assure your continuing education on nutrition and fitness. When you see something that intrigues you or just makes a lot of sense, try it out. Perhaps one week will involve barely restricted eating but require a lot of exercise. Go for it - it’s only a week.

6.

You are in the happy position of having wide choices available but also the needed structure of an organized plan to follow. The regimented eating is within each week’s diet; the power of choice is operative when you decide what the next week’s program will be.

7.

Can you stay on a diet permanently? Yes, you can, because you’re not restricting yourself from anything for life, just for a week at a time. Should you stay on a diet for the rest of your life? Yes, you probably should as long as you are getting a balance of foods from an intelligent mixing of alternative diet plans. If you like one diet more than another, or if one particular program works exceptionally well for you, by all means cycle that diet into your routine on a regular basis. Just make sure you don’t use the same plan more than once a month or your body is going to be ready for it and Zap! you find it no longer works so well.

8.

Can you over-diet? We have all seen (although they seem to be harder to find these days) overly thin, cadaverous dieters with sunken cheeks and loose skin. That can be avoided by making your selected diets very diverse so you are never without needed nutrients for very long. For example, many retirement homes and assisted living co-ops produce thin seniors with pallid skin and protruding abdomens. Replace their mushy, high starch meals with any of the myriad high protein and vegetable-fruit diets and their color will improve, their energy increase, and their tummies fade.

9.

Can you ever be too thin? Visit an eating disorder facility and you will see the results of anorexia nervosa, not a pretty sight and highly dangerous from a medical standpoint. If you have a history of overweight, you may tell yourself that being too thin will never be in the cards for you. However, there are not infrequent cases of the perennial heavy who becomes anorexic through dieting too much with resulting anxiety about gaining back even an ounce of the flesh so painfully discarded. If you have a distorted body image, and reliable friends are concerned about your being too thin, get professional help.

10.

It all comes down to using your brain intelligently. When you are at your heaviest, with the most to lose, the logical choice is a rather spartan program that will get the fat moving quickly. As you lose, more moderate programs can be interspersed so that your skin and cheeks have a chance to adjust and fill in as your weight stores become redistributed. If a particular part of your body is resistant to reduction, exercise may become a more important part of your plan than simply a dietary approach. Once you are hovering at your ideal weight, simple calorie counting or support group involvement may be all you need.

The secret is to be rational about it all and use that wonderful mind of yours to set the program for your not-so-intelligent body with its insatiable appetite and poundage conservation cravings. Don’t try to cheat unless you want to cheat yourself and then be honest and admit that, for whatever reason there is, you want to avoid further weight loss. When you want and need to lose fifty pounds, an ice cream and chocolate diet is not rational. When you are at ideal weight or below, a stringent fad diet makes no sense.

Will all this mixing of diets result in consistent weight loss? There is never consistency in weight loss because there are just too many factors involved: water retention, digestive inefficiencies, the amount of energy expended, and individual body quirks. Over time, you will lose steadily but there will always be some ups and downs along the way.

Once the concept of “going on a diet” has been discarded, a lifelong eating plan can be embraced, guaranteed to leave you in control of your weight for the rest of your long slender life.

So Many Different Diet Methods. Which One to Choose?

by Dominique Halet

Summertime is here and for those who have to lose some pounds and would like to wear their most beautiful bathing suit on the beach, it is time to think about starting a little diet.

Whether you have five or forty pounds to lose, the choice of the most healthy and effective diet is sometimes hard: there are hundreds of different diets methods and programmes out there, all with their pros and cons, advantages and disadvantages and the risk of gaining weight after the diet.

Whatever diet you choose, you will almost have to remove sugar and fat and deprive you of things you love, whether a burger, a pizza or shrimps in cream sauce, pay attention to what you drink …

Here is a review of some of the most popular diet methods and programmes that will help you to choose the one that will work for you.

Natural Health Diet

If you take weight loss pills you can boost their action by changing your way of eating. If you do not plan to take pills to help you lose weight but want to follow a healthy diet, then Natural Health Diet is the perfect weight loss plan.

You could make it healthier by limiting your portions and reducing the amount of fats that you eat. There are also other excellent ways to boost your natural weight loss while maintaining your body healthy ; for instance, by walking and cycling.

Calorie Restriction

This is the easiest diet to understand. When you follow that kind of diet, you have to remove some types of foods. The Calorie Restriction Diet is a healthy diet, based on a better quality of life ; that brings you good health, few hyper or hypotension problems.

The inconvenient of this diet is that you may notice that you feel hungry, and always must count the calories intake and perfectly know the contents of each and every food you take.

You will also have to restrict the meals at the restaurant…

Dr Atkins Diet - The fast weight loss method

This kind of diet method enables you to lose weight very quickly.

It is easy to follow and you may eat a great number and a large variety of food. While following this diet, you are not supposed to feel hungry; which is a positive point.

On the other hand, since you take few carbs, it can produce a loss of energy and vitality when it is prolonged. If you like to eat carbohydrate you will be frustrated as Atkins Diet does not allow you to take carbohydrates. Alcohol is completely prohibited.

The South Beach Diet

Method: good and bad carbohydrates.

You should not have to count the calories and do not limit the carbohydrate ingestion.

This diet includes three phases:

Phase 1: you may eat all what you want except carbohydrates; alcohol, beer, etc. are also banned.

Phase 2: this is the phase where you will be reintroducing some of the prohibited foods, this phase lasts as long as you wish or have to lose weight.

Phase 3: you enter the phase that is supposed to maintain your new weight.

By following the South Beach Diet, you are not supposed to feel hungry. On the other hand, this kind of weight loss diet can be rather expensive.

The Zone Diet

Here is what the Zone Diet allows you to eat:

* Carbohydrates

* Proteins

* Fat (olive oil, butter)

What you cannot eat:

* Fruits and vegetables that are rich in sugar

* Potatoes, rice, pasta, bread, etc.

What you cannot drink:

* Alcohol

* Sodas, etc.

You will lose weight quickly but once you will finish the diet, you will be at the risk to gain the lost weight again - and maybe some more pounds. So, after having followed such a diet, you will have to restrict your food if you want to maintain your new waist line.

The Green Tea Diet

This weight loss diet is the easiest diet to do! It is also appreciated by the professionals and seems being effective.

Drinking green tea not only helps you to lose weight but it is also very good for your health. However, you should take note that the loss of weight is not as spectacular as with reducing diets but it is also the safest loss of weight: slowly lost pounds do not come back and whether they return, they will do it as slowly as you lost them.

If you plan to follow the Green Tea Diet, ensure you that you like to drink green tea ;-)

Cleansing / Detox Diet

If you want to feel more fresh, lighter or more energetic, choose Detox / Cleansing Diet.

Detox Diet will cleanse your liver which will metabolize the food more quickly and allows you a long term weight loss. However, this kind of weight loss program is not easy to follow without feeling hungry. So it can be hard to stick to the Cleansing/Detox diet more than two weeks.

Tip: have a Detox Diet one week before leaving on holiday.

Happy weight loss!

Rachael Ray Diet - Flat Belly Diet Review

6/24/09 | 0 comments »

by Rachel Archer

Have you seen the Rachael Ray Diet on her daytime TV show? It’s also better known as the flat belly diet and today I plan to review this diet and explain the pros and cons of the diet and whether you can expect to lose 25 pounds in 3 weeks as it suggests. I’ll also another weight loss option that has already proven itself if you choose not to try the flat belly diet.

So how does the Flat Belly Diet Work?

The diet is based around a type of beneficial fat known as monounsaturated fat or (MUFA). The idea is that you eat a variety of foods that are high in this fat and as a result you will feel full from this and not eat other foods as a result. As well the ability of your body to burn off this fat more easily than other forms of calories is the major benefit for weight loss you can expect.

So what are the downsides to this diet?

The focus on MUFA as a way to fill you up is misleading as it has been shown that protein is the ideal food for this purpose. If that wasn’t enough though to hold up an argument the major problem with this diet is the fact that it will eventually end and through the duration of this very redundant diet you will have slowed your metabolic processes as a result. This is a major problem with most diets and is the reason why people experience a rebound effect after a diet and put weight back on. Most diets have you either avoiding calories as the flat belly diet does, or has you eating a very structured schedule of the same types of foods which is yet another problem with the flat belly diet.

The ideal diet focuses on your metabolism, not on avoiding calories

Lets face it, when you come off of a diet are you going to eat the same as you did on the diet or are you going back to your old habits? Odds are you’ll be back to your old habits and the weight will slowly creep back on. Now what if you were to try something different such as calorie shifting. The idea behind calorie shifting is that you are focusing on boosting your metabolism through eating, not avoid calories. This is a much more realistic long term weight loss diet as you are focusing on changing the factor that allowed you to put on the weight to begin with. Best of all with calorie shifting there is no rebound effect, in fact part of the focus of the diet is burning fat continually from its effects for weeks after you decide to stop!.

Find out Why Calorie Shifting gets better results than any other diet! Click on http://www.fatloss4idiots.com

Diet for Idiots -- a Plan That Will Work for You-dieting Secrets-dieting Tricks-diet Hand Book

by Josh Green

With so many different ideas about dieting currently on the market, it can be very confusing and difficult for people who are trying to find a diet plan that will work for them and meet their specific needs. If they keep trying over and over with diets that work for other people, but that don’t work for themselves, it can become very discouraging.

The main concept behind dieting is that we should begin to eat a healthy diet consuming the correct foods in order for our bodies to still function but not excessive in order to create a surplus of calories and sugars that are turned into fat and stored in the body.

In order to do so, people must eat healthier diets whilst exercising sufficiently and maintaining those diets. There is no perfect cure-all diet that can work for everyone in every circumstance. This was the main motivation behind the diet for idiots. The diet for idiots is a diet plan promoting weight loss for idiots/ This plan combines different diet styles in order to achieve easy fat loss for idiots.

The main reason that the diet plan works time and time again is because it utilizes diverse eating styles and rotates them, so that a person receives all the nutrients he or she needs in order to be healthy and yet not be bored by the diet. This is a gread diet plan that really works!

A cure-all diet does not exist but a healthy diet that works emphasizes reduction of fat stored in the body and reduction in calories consumed. The diet for idiots focuses on eating healthier foods and exercising sufficiently. It promotes weight loss for idiots by combining the best features of many diet plans. By having the aspects of different eating styles, the plan allows the body to get the needed nutrients. This plan can also be called as fat loss for idiots because it does not prohibit foods containing carbohydrates nor does it encourage high protein diets. It creates a healthy balance and thus becomes easier to follow for a longer period.

Weight Loss Programs - Which Diet Is Best ?

by Ken Black

We are lucky to live in an age when information is readily available to help us find a solution to almost any problem that we may be facing. Healthy weight loss is a perfect example of this. There are many weight loss programs that will suit almost any type of person and their lifestyle.

An important thing to consider when choosing the right program is to find one that educates you long term on how to lose weight and keep it off for good. Below are some of the most popular weight loss programs on the market today:

The Diabetes Diet:

The Diabetes diet is not so much a diet as an education on what foods are healthy and what foods cause the diabetic to have an increase in glucose in the blood. Each person differs in the way that their body and metabolism burns up glucose, so the diabetic diet differs among those who use it. The Diabetic diet is less like a diet and more like a healthy weight loss program that can be used by anyone who wants to benefit from a healthier lifestyle.

The South Beach Diet:

The South Beach diet is known as one of the most popular, healthy weight loss diets of our time. A cardiologist named Dr Arthur Agatston, at a hospital in South Beach, created this diet. He originally developed the diet for patients who were overweight and had heart problems. Dr Agatston has been quoted as saying that the South Beach Diet is not a low carb eating plan or a low fat eating plan, but you can be assured that it is both healthy and really works.

NutriSystem Nourish Program:

The Nutri System Nourish Program works by controlling the foods that you eat, as well as your portions. There are a few good things about this diet. The first is that the food is already prepared and shipped right to your front door - healthy weight loss without the dishes, much like Jenny Craig. The other benefit of the NutriSystem Nourish Program is that it is very affordable, even if you are not a Hollywood star.

The Zone Diet:

Barry Sears PhD created the Zone Diet and according to recent studies, it has been found to be the most successful diet from among such diets as the Atkins diet and other high carb, low fat diets. The diet itself is said to be quite tricky to understand and works on a formula of 40% carbs and 30% of both protein and fats, for every meal. If you can understand the Zone diet, you will have a great success rate from being on it.

The Atkins Diet:

The Atkins Diet has been around since the 70s when Dr. Robert Atkins wrote the book, The New Diet Revolution. This diet became very popular a few years ago, but that popularity is beginning to dwindle. The Atkins Diet works on the principal that you are allowed to eat proteins and fat, but must avoid eating carbs in your eating plan.

This particular way of eating has created a lot of controversy and the results have been mixed. It is said that the Atkins Diet is not for everyone, but research suggests that many people have achieved short-term weight loss from this diet.

Negative Calorie Diet Plan:

This program is said to be a fad diet that is a thinly disguised low calorie diet. The Negative Calorie Diet works by eating foods that take more calories to digest than what they contain. There have been mixed results with the Negative Calorie Diet Plan, but, as a rule, many people have had a short-term weight loss solution on this diet.

The Three-Day Diet:

The three-day diet claims that those using it will lose up to 10 pounds in 3 days by sticking to the meal plan for the three days. It is based on a very low calorie-eating plan. A low calorie plan can be of little use for shedding pounds if used over a longer period than three days because, after this time, your body will begin a starvation mode and slow down your metabolism. Because the diet is based on a low calorie-eating plan, you may also feel drained of energy and hungry. This may cause many people to stop using this eating plan.

There are many other weight loss programs or diets that can help you lose weight, however it is always best to check with your doctor first before changing your eating habits or taking any diet pills.

Not your Typical Diet Pill

by Diets In Review

There are thousands upon thousands of weight-loss products available today. It seems the weight-loss industry is growing by leaps and bounds. How do you know which pill will really work for you? Well, you can turn to Alli. Alli is the first FDA-approved over-the-counter diet pill—and it is absolutely not a fad diet pill.

The pill, from pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline, promotes a healthier lifestyle by teaching you that the best route to weight loss involves eating healthy food and getting the exercise you need. Alli is not a shortcut to weight loss that will leave you gaining fifteen pounds once you stop taking it—Alli is meant for long-term weight loss results.

Alli helps you lose weight by blocking 25% of the fat you consume from being digested. As a result, Alli can help you lose 50% more weight than you would be able to with dieting alone. All it takes is a single pill with every meal!

It is important that when taking Alli, you consume a healthy diet, as continuation with a high-fat diet can result in inconvenient side effects including flatulence and rectal discharge as the drug acts to reduce the amount of fat stored to your body. This, however, is great motivation to stay on the right path of a healthy diet and exercise.

The Alli weight-loss plan also includes an individually tailored online plan that will help you safely and gradually lose weight. . The plan is designed for you to use alongside the pills to provide the support you need to achieve your weight-loss goals. The Alli starter kit also comes with helpful reference guides so that you have every tidbit of weight-loss information right at your fingertips.

Alli is a sensible approach to weight loss that focuses on your long-term health and success. If you're considering trying Alli, you should be sure you're ready to make a commitment to change your diet and exercise habits and to live your life in a new, healthier way.

Detox Diet Ideas

by The Diet Guy

There are several types of detox diets. There are those in which you can only eat fruits and vegetables, those in which you can only eat "clean" foods, those in which you can only drink fruit and vegetable juice, and the most extreme type where you can only drink water. You can also do specialized cleanses designed specifically for certain area of the body, for instance the liver, kidneys, blood or lungs. However, most detox diets just involve cleansing the entire body. Below, there is a sample of a seven day detox diet that you can try.

First of all, it is important that you have regular bowel movements during a detox because this will lessen the likelihood of toxins being reabsorbed by the body. A good way to make sure you will eliminate regularly is to take 2 tablespoons of ground flax seeds in lemon water in the morning, and drink lemon water throughout the day. Flax seeds provide the body with fiber and lemon water has a slightly laxative effect.

It is also important to drink enough fluids on a cleanse. You should try to include at least 8 glasses of water daily to ensure that you are allowing toxins to be flushed out.

A sample menu of a detox diet follows below. This is a diet that allows some food, since this tends to be easier for beginners. Remember, you can modify this to fit your needs and preferences.

UPON RISING

·1/2 lemon squeezed into a glass of warm water

·1 tablespoon of bentonite clay and 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseeds in a glass of water

BREAKFAST

·breakfast smoothie made with pear, rice milk and rice protein powder

·supplements: vitamin C

SNACKS

·apple juice diluted with water

·water

·vegetable broth

·supplements: milk thistle

·celery sticks and hummus

LUNCH

·chunky vegetable soup made with vegetable stock and your choice of vegetables

·steamed broccoli with sesame seeds and beets sprinkled with lemon juice on brown rice

·apple sauce

·supplements: multivitamin

SNACKS

·dandelion root tea

·carrot sticks with hummus dip

·water

·supplements: milk thistle

DINNER

·curried lentils on quinoa

·salad with mixed greens, red peppers, artichokes and sprouts drizzled with salad dressing of garlic, lemon juice and olive oil

·vegetable broth

BEFORE BED

·1 tablespoon of bentonite clay and 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseeds in a glass of water

This can be followed for up to seven days. Have fun, and remember to be careful, because while you should expect to feel sluggish and slightly ill, if you are feeling very ill or fatigued, contact your doctor.

Weight Loss Quick Diet

by Leo D Pierson, Jr.

people believe that eating a purely low fat menu is the answer to losing weight, yet our society is more and more overweight with each passing year. Low fat foods and diets have been popular for quite some time.

For the truly inspired, a two-week diet plan along with balanced menus is available to help keep you on track. Maybe you should try a Calorie less menu to lose weight.

A menu with few calories but enough nutrition will give you a healthy diet and help lose weight.

Here’s an up-to-date report from fast weight loss experts who should know.

So far, we’ve uncovered some interesting facts about fast weight loss. In the absence of a major change, such as surgery, fast weight loss frequently leads to repeated weight gain. Just remember to get back on track and resume your positive fast weight loss tips amd habits.

Just keep moving forward. Fast weight loss is only really appropriate for those who are very overweight .

Any rapid weight loss regime is not appropriate for those only looking to lose 2-25 pounds. The next question someone might have now is about all of those pills and products that promise fast weight loss.

And they back up their claims too. Fast weight loss is usually followed shortly by rapid weight gain. Besides, 1 pound of fat contains 3,500 calories, so you need to burn 500 more calories than you eat each day to lose just 1 pound a week (500 calories x 7 days).

There are certain causes for fast weight loss: firstly, it is the loss of large amounts of water and not fats. Secondly is loss of muscle tissue, especially if you do not consume enough proteins and healthy foods.

Fad diets encourage yo-yo diet-binge cycles of fast weight loss and equally fast weight gain. This is worse for your health and your self esteem than if you had stayed overweight all the time. Everyone is looking for the secret to losing weight. Everyone wants it to be easy. There is no easy way to lose weight, but there is a secret. It may not be what you want to hear, though.

The weight loss formula is basically simple: burn more calories than you consume. How do you do that? Commit to Cardio! Too many people underestimate the importance of cardio in their workout routine.

If you truly want to lose weight, you need to be doing a good 45 minute to 1hour cardio workout 4 to 5 times per week. Less than that will help you to maintain your current weight, but won’t help you to shed those pounds. You need to find what you enjoy, make it a priority, and work hard while you’re at it! The first step to making your commitment to cardio is to find what you enjoy.

There are so many options to choose from - running, cycling, cardio machines in the gym, and group fitness classes, just to name a few. If you get bored easily, change it up frequently. Find a friend who likes the same type of workout and use the buddy system. If you pick an activity you enjoy, it will be much easier to stick with it.

Ultimately though, all successful diets revolve around an individual reducing a calorie intake either by diet or exercise. Unfortunately, our lifestyles in the world today have us sitting at desks for eight hours and the food we have access to is usually filled with refined sugar and fat. Some even receive Treatments for “Metabolic Syndrome” involve basic lifestyle changes, such as losing weight, eating a healthier diet, and increasing your activity level.

Your doctor can help you develop a specific plan for making the necessary changes.

How Low Carb Diets Work

6/15/09 | 0 comments »

by Karen Ciancio

Many people are confused about how low carb diets work. It doesn’t make sense to them that you can eat more fat and protein than is traditionally called for and still lose weight.

A low carb diet plan greatly restricts the amount of carbohydrates you consume, as compared with a traditional North American diet, or even compared with a low fat diet. While our bodies would usually burn stored carbohydrates for energy, low carb eating forces the body to burn more stored fat instead. When this happens, your body produces chemicals called “ketones”. Ketones result when your kidneys convert fat to soluble waste. Getting your body to reach this point is one of the goals of a low carbohydrate diet.

There is a scientific reason behind the development of this diet. Dr. Robert Atkins first introduced the concept of eating a low carbohydrate diet in the 1970s. He noticed that primitive people consumed a diet of mostly meat, vegetables and some fruit.

Because this diet was in existence for thousands of years before the development of agriculture, Atkins concluded that the reason most people had difficulty losing weight and keeping it off is that we are eating contrary to the way our digestive system is set up. In other words, our bodies do not support eating wheat, barley and other grains and sugars.

In the 1990s the diet seemed to be rediscovered and became known as the Atkins New Diet Revolution. Since the reemergence of the Atkins diet, other low carb diets have been developed that are variations of it. The Zone Diet, the Stillman Diet, the Hollywood Diet, the Ketogenic Diet and the South Beach Diet are all based on the idea of eating fewer carbohydrates. They all advise eating more protein and limited carbs and inducing the body to burn its own fat.

Low carb diet plans differ somewhat in the amount of carbohydrates they allow, but all advise cutting out all white or starchy foods. The most strict is the 20 gram per day carb limit of the initial stage of Atkins, plus some of the other diet plans. The 20 grams is generally derived from salads and non-starchy vegetables, plus the trace amounts of carbs in sauces, dressings and cheeses.

In the first stages of a low carbohydrate diet, dieters are not allowed to have any milk, fruits, grains, cereals, pasta, breads or “high glycemic index” vegetables such as potatoes, peas, corn and carrots. The missing carbs are replaced with ample amounts of protein.

This is a very low amount of carbohydrate when compared with the large amounts of pasta and grains advised by traditional low fat diet recommendations, so this diet has become quite controversial. Butter is also included, which is another reason for the controversy over low carbohydrate eating plans. The butter is recommended because fat slows down the absorption of carbohydrates into the body and helps to maintain an even blood sugar level.

The whole idea behind Dr. Atkins original principal is that it we gain weight in our Western world because our blood sugar levels are allowed to go too high by eating too much high starch food. Control the carbohydrate levels and you control weight much more easily. Much research has shown this to be true. Of course opposing research has been done too, so the controversy continues to some extent, although it is generally acknowledged by all now that the high carb recommendations of the past were incorrect.

The great difficulty of any severely restricted diet is that most people can end up regaining much of their lost weight because of difficulty adhering to the restrictions over the long-term. This can ultimately result in rebound weight gain and is the reason that the modified versions of Atkins diet have evolved.

The Atkins diet itself though, does gradually increase the amount of carbohydrates you consume as you complete your weight loss, to avoid the extremes of losing then regaining weight. Is it right for you?

Never to Late to Start a Diet !

by The Diet Guy

Many people make their New Year's resolution to lose weight. While they start out with good intentions, far too often the weekly drudge of sticking to a diet can wear thin quite quickly and before they know it their good diet intentions have fallen away. Fortunately, there are a few things you can do to stick to your diet resolution without giving up before the excess weight goes away.

One of the most important things you can do to ensure that you stick with your weight loss goals is to write a contract with yourself, promising to stick with the resolution that you have made. If you want to lose a specific amount of weight within a certain amount of time, be sure to include this in the contract along with what you specifically plan to do to lose the weight. Post the contract somewhere you'll be sure to see it everyday.

Setting goals is an excellent way to make sure that you stay on track with your weight loss plans; however, it is important to ensure that your goals are manageable and not too broad in scope. Due to the fact that dieting can become tiresome very quickly, you may find it helpful to energize your diet with a new goal each week. This gives you something to work on, and even look forward to, each week. Examples of small goals you can set for yourself include starting an exercise routine, cutting out sodas, drinking more water, etc.

Small goals are also a great incentive to work your way up to larger goals, an important component of sticking to your diet plans. Rather than saying you plan to lose weight this year, instead make it a point to commit to losing a specific amount of weight within a definite time frame. This helps to ensure that you do not put off your weight loss plans indefinitely.

As with any major change in your life, it's generally always easier to accomplish your goals when you have the help and support of friends and family. Make a point to inform those close to you that you are dieting and what you hope to accomplish. In addition, it's always a good idea to let them know exactly what you're doing to lose weight so they do not unintentionally sabotage your diet plans. The presence of a weight loss buddy who can keep you on track and motivated will significantly decrease the chances that you'll give up before accomplishing your goals.

Most people function well under a rewards system and losing weight is no different, provided that you ensure your rewards support your diet and do not undermine them. While you may look forward to enjoying an ice cream sundae after reaching a weight loss goal, think of other rewards that you would enjoy and keep your diet intact. Consider rewarding yourself for every milestone you reach, such as every five pounds lost. Positive reward examples include a manicure, massage, new book/CD/DVD, new shirt, etc. Significant weight loss goals, such as 25 pounds or 50 pounds, could warrant a larger reward such as a weekend trip or something else meaningful.

Idiot Proof Diet-weight Loss-online Diet Generator-diet Hand Book-dieting Tricks

by Josh Green

The sheer number of different dieting ideas in today’s market can be extremely overwhelming, especially to people who need a customized, effective diet plan and have not been able to find one. A person can get easily discouraged when a diet that has worked for a friend doesn’t work when the person tries it himself.

Dieting is, in essence, a method to ensure the appropriate foods are consumed for normal bodily functions. The main caveat is that food should not be consumed in excessive quantities, which will cause the calories and sugars to be turned into fat cells and stored in the body.

For weight loss to be effective those following weight loss programs need to stick to the diet specified and take regular exercise. There can be no diet that will work for everyone since we are all different and rules can be hard to follow, is there such a thing as fat loss for idiots?. The diet for idiots was created with this in mind. Diet for idiots seeks to allow weight loss for idiots by combining the best feature of many different diets. This is the diet for idiots main feature.

One of the main factors which cause the plan to work consistently is that the plan rotates through all these different eating styles so that the body is allowed to get the nutrients it requires for it to function on a daily basis, whilst remaining healthy. The diet plan is an ideal one.

Without the use of many different diet plans there would not be much merit to the plan because most diets that are in existence always omit something or encourage over eating something. For instance a low carbohydrate diet encourages the removal of a large part of your carbohydrate intake.

The other side of diets to be avoided excessively are protein rich diets. Such high protein diets have a property such that they are consumed more in quantity by a person than his normal counterpart. When a high protein containing diet is administered, a person on diet is encouraged to take liberal proteins instead of taking more carbohydrates and fats.

The main motivation behind the diet for idiots is that there is no perfect cure-all diet that can work for everyone in every circumstance. This is a diet plan promoting weight loss for idiots. It combines different diet styles in order to achieve easy fat loss for idiots. One of the main factors which cause this plan to work consistently is that it cycles through various eating styles so that the body is allowed to get the nutrients it requires for it to function on a daily basis, whilst remaining healthy. This diet plan is an ideal one.

Top Ten Diets That Work- Avoid This Catastrophic Mistake When Choosing A Diet

6/13/09 | 0 comments »

by Michael Hutchins

In uncovering the top ten diets that work, I was also exposed to revealing insights as to why some diets work for some people, and not for others. The fact is that just about all diets “work” when it comes to some degree of weight loss. However, many individuals make the crucial mistake of picking a diet that sabotages their chances of success from the beginning.

1) The Diet Does Not Conform To Their Lifestyle

This is a mistake that the majority of dieters are guilty of. Before going on a given diet, or enrolling in a diet program, individuals should closely examine the requirements of the diet. After looking over the requirements, they should compare them to the realities of their lifestyle. As I researched the top ten diets that work, I found that each of them suited the lifestyle of a high percentage of people.

For example, if an individual has an occupation where they are constantly eating “on the run”, is it realistic that they will stick to a plan that features all prepared meals?

Probably not.

If a diet requires drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day, is it realistic to select it if you can’t make frequent trips to the bathroom throughout the day?

Probably not.

Eating preferences can determine how suitable a diet is for any given individual. If you refuse to each fruits and vegetables, a balanced and restrictive low calorie diet may be a self defeating choice. Inevitably, if an individual goes on a diet and will only eat some of the required food, they are doomed to be weak, tired, and miserable!

It is important that each dieter actually puts themselves in the mental position of actually being on the diet. Upon examining that realitiy, they may realize that a given diet program is not realistic for them.

Moreover, the good thing about learning how to compare diet pills means fully understanding how and where you could purchase the best diet pills in your area. Yes, the diet pills may be available in some stores but the Diet Pills List site provides you with detailed information on the average pricing, the location where you could purchase the best diet pills according to your needs and the like.

Therefore, make sure to compare diet pills well so you can get the best diet pills for your weight loss program according to your needs and budget.

How about as many bananas as you want every morning and down it with warm water? Well this is the foundation of the Japanese banana diet; the diet that started to make some noises last year. So how does this Japanese banana diet works? Well here is short description and a plan for the Japanese banana diet that made noises and continues to make noise of the right kind this year.

Planning is a key in the Japanese banana diet

Here we list the five major key points that should be remembered by the interested person if he or she wants to take the Japanese banana diet seriously:

• For breakfast. You need to eat one or a few pieces of banana and you need to wash it down with warm water. This is the important requirement for the Japanese banana diet.

• Lunch. Sensible lunch choices and the good thing here is that there will be no restrictions on what you will eat for lunch.

• Snack. Is it nice to see a diet that allows room for snacks? Other dieting plans will scrap the need to have a snack hour since this will only contribute to the growing amount of calories in the body. But not with the Japanese banana diet. With the Japanese banana diet, you get to have your snack time and according to the Japanese banana diet you can get your snack at around 3pm.

Feel free to choose dinner for Japanese banana diet but dessert is out of the question

If you make sensible choices under the Japanese banana diet, then you improve your chance of slimming faster and healthier. One key point for this time of the day is for you to avoid desserts. Top Ten Diets That Work- The 3 Critical Keys To Avoiding Diets That Don't Work

by Michael Hutchins

I recently completed months of research to compile a list of the top ten diets that work. I put together the list at the request of MANY personal training clients. In performing my research, I not only uncovered key aspects of successful diets, I also found shared characteristics of unsuccessful diets.

1) Starvation Is NEVER Successful

Never means NEVER!

I discovered one diet, for example, that limited individuals to 500 calories a day. The diet was developed by an Italian doctor, and combines the 500 calorie diet with injections of HCG, which is a growth hormone found in young boys. Despite a lack of creditable evidence that the combination “aids” weight loss, the diet has been around for years.

Individuals do, in fact, lose weight rapidly on the diet. However, common sense tells us that ANYONE would lose weight on 500 calories a day!

H-E-L-L-O!

I discovered that individuals tend to feel tired and weak on the diet, and gaining back the lost weight is the general rule. Frequent periods of no weight loss,(plateaus), are common due to a profound metabolic slowdown. Plateaus were far less common in the top ten diets that work.

2) The Diet Has Little Variety

Diets that offer little variety can be boring and unsafe. If a diet focuses on one food group, for example, such as protein, it lacks essential vitamins, minerals and fiber. Each of these has an important role in an individual’s health and well being

The monotony of eating too much of one kind of food can make sticking to the diet long term, very difficult. Also, if an individual manages to lose some weight, the chances are great that the weight will return when they return to their previous eating preferences.

3) The Plan Has No “Exit” Strategy

For a weight loss program to be truly succesful. a maintenance plan must be included. The top ten diets that work, for example, all had a maintenance plan to hep individuals keep the weight off

You Should Know How Your Diet Is Supposed To Work

The vast majority of people start dieting in order to lose weight. Losing weight can be accomplished in a number of ways. A diet is simply a specific method for accomplishing that task.

When one decides that they need to lose weight, the first thing that must be considered is the reason for wanting to lose weight. Is the weight loss going to be directed at a way to gain better health or is it more of a vanity reason? The reason for dieting is as important as the method used to lose the weight.

If attaining a more healthy lifestyle and striving for better health is the reason, it should not be of any concern how long the dieting takes to achieve the weight loss goal, if in fact there is a goal. If good health is the main objective, length of time should not be an issue because the diet should simply be a part of a life-style change in which the dieting change would be a long-term part of the life-style anyway.

If, on the other hand, vanity is the reason and the dieting person is hell bent on losing a significant amount of weight in a short period of time in order to fit into an object of clothing or simply to look great at the class reunion in a month, the method chosen for dieting will be completely different and, most likely, quite unhealthy.

Long term lifestyle type diets are usually of the type that occur in small increments of weight loss and continue as exercise is slowly increased and more healthy food, in smaller portions is consumed. These are usually quite simple diets that don’t cause a significant amount of suffering as long as the dieting person is committed to the long-term goals.

The vanity type diet is usually a quick but very self-denying diet in which the dieting person eats very little or eats foods that do not tempt the pallet as far as taste or attractiveness go. Often, very large amounts of water are incorporated into these diets and most people do not drink enough water to begin with. When they are confronted with the need to increase their water intake significantly, they hesitate or they are not very compliant. Water, when one is not thirsty, simply does not taste very good.

The vanity diet also usually requires a substantial increase in activity in the form of exercise and most people have a strong aversion to that form of activity.

There are also diets that are not in either the lifestyle change nor the vanity dieting lists but are really a forced lifestyle change that is completely necessary for the dieting person to continue to live. Once such diet is the diabetic diet. If one ignores their diabetes and continues to eat large amounts of carbohydrates, as most Americans do, they will eventually suffer serious health deterioration. So, the necessary-for-life diets are not the ones we are really concerned with in this article.

There are a number of different diets available for each of the non-necessity diets. The basic lifestyle change diet has already been described though some of the latter day fad diets are also appropriate for long-term dieting if the person doing the dieting is indeed dedicated to the lifestyle change. Some specific fad diets that would work for this person are the Atkins or low-carb diet, The Zone diet or the South Beach diet.

The extreme vanity diet person can also use the low carb diet for fast weight loss or they can try starvation or if they really want to lose weight fast and suffer a bit more but at least retain some type of decent health, they can attempt the Lemonade Diet.

The lemonade diet is highly effective but is more a fast than a diet and a special mixture of water, cayenne pepper, lemon juice and syrup are required. One must be highly dedicated to losing weight for this diet to work as no food is allowed for a period of at least ten days and the Lemonade dieter will feel worse before they feel like a million dollars. The diet is extremely effective for losing ten pounds or more in ten days though. The added benefit of this diet is that it does a thorough job of cleaning the colon.

Each one of the above mentioned diets should be highly suspect and not just accepted for it’s reputation or the current fad. One who is considering dieting should, at the very least, buy the book that is written about the diet in order to learn how the diet works with the body and effects the different body systems. Each of the authors has a lot of information included in their book about these concerns.

The main point of this article is to point out to anyone who is considering dieting that they should be very careful and choose a diet that meets their goals and health concerns. Don’t blindly go into any diet without knowing how it’s supposed to effect you, what you’re supposed to eat while on the diet, how much weight you are expected to lose in a specific period of time and what are the benefits and health concerns that attach to that diet.

In fact, it is a very good idea to discuss any diet plans with your health care professional prior to starting or even considering one of the above diets.

Top 4 Diet Plans For Successful Weight Loss

by Galia Ivanova

There are thousands of different diets all over the internet and some of them are so confused with others that no wonder why you can get so lost and eventually end up in total despair and frustration.

Not to talk about what can happen if you decide to follow some diet and instead of losing weight, you get the opposite result - gain weight. That’s reality - some diets may work for you, others can end like a complete disaster for you.

There is no dieter who wants to achieve the negative effect of dieting. But the truth is that if you don’t know what exactly you are doing, you are most likely to fail your diet and give up in the end. Well, here’s why we are here to help you make the right choice for a diet plan.

First steps in dieting

The very first thing any diet should do for you is to prevent you from further weight gain. Next is to set your future weight loss goals. Set realistic goals! Do small steps to reach your goals and to achieve your target weight.

Don’t expect fast results - anything you do in a rush for rapid results may end uglier that you thought (that means lose weight gradually to succeed).

You should remember - there is no easy and fast way to lose weight and you should deal with that. Dieting is hard, takes time, often separates you from your family, as far as it comes to counting the calories, the carbohydrates and fats in your meals.

Can’t resist the temptations?

It gets even worse if you can’t resist the sweet and delicious temptations all around you after the first or the second week on your diet. Probably while you’ve been doing the shopping for your diet you happen to pass by the sweet, delicious and so unhealthy foods, that make you crave for them like never before.

The solutions

I know it’s hard from my personal experience, but there is a solution, and that is why I want to share it with you here in this article:

Believe it or not I lost weight not by following some strict don’t-eat-this-don’t-eat-that diet, but by eating only delicious, healthy and great looking meals with less calories and never really felt starving to death.

It’s simple not to get hungry if you eat about 5 times a day very delicious meals and lose weight safely at the same time. The only problem here is that you either have to prepare those delicious meals yourself, or you can order them from a specialized diet food delivery service that will cook them for you.

Which one is better?

In the first case when you prepare your meals yourself, you spend a lot of time shopping and cooking. What’s more you may forget some of the products or even get bored with all that cooking healthy meals and eating them afterwards. I myself find the shopping and cooking a little bit exhausting, not to mention that I may lose my appetite while I am doing all this stuff. If in any part of your diet anything like that happens, then don’t expect any positive results. You won’t save money, you will lose time.

However, if you choose a Diet Food Delivery Service to supply you with healthy and delicious foods and meals at the beginning of every week - well, that’s another story. All you need to do is heat the meals in the microwave and enjoy their great taste by following the diet plan, cause every service of that kind has a diet plan you should stick to.

Well, of course these services are not cheap, but if you are really serious of getting rid of all extra pounds, it’ll nice to think of this diet food delivery service thing as for a small investment for your good health and happier life. You do want to prevent you from getting high blood pressure, heart attack or else?

Here are the Diet Food Delivery Services We Recommend:

Diet To Go Diet Food

Diet To Your Door / BISTRO MD

And the Protein Diet Plans and Meal Replacements that work and we also very heartily recommend:

Medifast Diet and the 5 & 1 Plan

Diet Direct and the WonderSlim Starter Kits

Don’t be surprised that we also recommend those two diet plans. We are doing this cause they are good and can help you in a way you might not imagine.

With these types of diets you take more proteins, lower carbohydrates and absolute no fat. So you lose weight successfully and keep it off for good.

While on the protein diet you replace one or more meals with fat free shakes, puddings, soups and bars, which is why they are called meal replacements.

Protein diet - when should you start it?

When you are on a low budget, cause these types of diet are cheaper than diet food delivery services.

Another reason could be if you really really like protein diet shakes, bars and puddings, then you will definitely enjoy the meal replacement diet plan very much.

In conclusion

No matter what type of diet you choose, you must be serious about it and your weight loss. Stay focused on your goals! Use wisely the diet plan, information, recipes and motivation articles from the diet service or diet plan you choose.
